Isn't He Cute.....
As many of you know my husband, Dan, is a re-enactor. He dons his 1770's clothing and accessories like a man on a mission and with a real passion. He loves our history and enjoys being a part of bringing it to life and living it. Recently he was at the Smithfield Plantation here in Blacksburg, Virginia for the fourth of July participating in a bit of our history. In a land of log cabins and physical hardship, Smithfield provided a haven of aristocratic elegance and became the social and political center of the country during the Revolutionary war. Dan loves the place and thoroughly enjoys the group in his company. I have yet to make it there but I will soon. In the mean time I get to see my better half (seriously) get dressed up and wear a huge grin as he sets forth to go play soldier! Oh and by the way....Dan throws a mean tomahawk!

Family......
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

This looks fun and I love the costumes.

I still have that Rosie the witch cosume (it is museum replica!)iffen you would like to borrow it!She still lives in infamy and is beloved in Hampton!
He looks like he's having fun! I have learned so much from the civil war re-enactors who appear at the Quiet Valley Harvest Festival each fall in PA.

That looks like fun. We have those here too, at the historic home sites.

Isn't he just the cutest! I LOVE history. I wish I could pay a visit to your neck of the woods! I would go antique-ing, craft shows, visit museums, etc.
Gotta love this guy with his dedication. He truly lives the spirit of the time. Living with Dan is always an adventure, lol! Pam
