The Love of My Life.....
Often we sit back and reflect on how we would have done many things differently but there is one thing in my life that I know for sure I did perfectly and that was marrying Dan! We have been together almost 40 years and through those years we have traveled some pretty bumpy roads, still are, and yet after wards they always felt like smooth sailing cause he was holding my hand! We raised three incredible children together, children that were smarter than us from the time they learned to walk, and we survived! This man not only taught me the meaning of family he opened my eyes to the possibilities of love and family....something I had little or no exposure to growing up. This picture of Dan represents to me everything I love about him....his love for life, history, the great outdoors and a good joke! He may not be a tall man but he is a giant when it comes to his integrity and compassion of others. His ability to forgive and forget is astounding, a quality that many can learn from.
He has been a 18th century re-enactor for many years but an EXPERT flyfisherman for even longer! His flyfishing reputation is known throughout the world....Flyfishing is not a sport to him but a religion and one he takes very seriously! I want fish I buy it at the store...Dan only catches and releases! I could write volumes about my luck of the draw marrying this guy...it just goes to show that happiness is the true basis for a good life.....and my life with Dan is awesome!

Family......
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

When is your Anniversary?
We are celebrating our 35th on June 21st.
It is wonderful to find our soul mates early in life.
Debbie
The love of a good man and sharing the ups and downs of life together is a blessed thing! We have been married 19 (and together more than half my life)and I couldn't be happier - CHEERS!
What a lovely tribute to your good man--brought a tear to my eye, as I feel much the same about my man!! Blessings on both of you!
Smiles, Karen
p.s. it is my hub and my 19th anniversary today! :o)
You're a very lucky person to have found such a dear person to share life with. Smiles to you!

Pam ~ you've got a great guy and you're smart enough to know it! And smart enough to shout it from the roof tops!! Some people don't know when they're well off!! That was very sweet!
What a wonderful tribute! Mike and I just celebrated our 18th Anniversary and I am so thankful for him. It's truly a blessing to have such wonderful men in our lives :)

Aren't we so lucky to have found our special soul mate. I too have a wonderful husband as of this year, 22 years. It took me a few tries but he was well worth the wait. He is everybit worth his weight in gold. I have to admit though, I think they did pretty good with us too. Hehe
Oh yes, be sure to drop by and sign up for my giveaway too. I have yours posted there.
What a wonderful post! I love the photo of Dan laughing:)
