Searching For Answers.....

Many times I have wandered through the pages of my life wishing there was one “all knowing” individual I could rely on to have the answers to the “speed bumps” of life. Often I find myself looking for the “Caterpillar”! Like Alice on her quest through wonderland I find myself doing the same through life. My ancestors use to have their “Spirit Guides” when they would enter into the realm of adulthood…they would go out on their “Vision Quest” in search of the answers to life and the path they would follow. As I look back upon the MANY paths that I have taken I find I have little regret. That, in itself, can be considered an accomplishment. Of course we all have “oh I wish I could have done that differently or chose more wisely” but whatever the event that came from your decision it is how you travel down that path that determines the person you will ultimately become. Will we become humble enough to admit when we are wrong or to just be the bigger person to stop an incident from escalating to cause hurt and/or grief. Is having the last word all that it’s cracked up to be or is it just a way of feeling superior? Do we sacrifice friendships or push loved ones away because we have to be right. The art of forgiveness is not a lesson that takes much time or studying it’s a simple communication from your brain to your heart….then the rest is up to you! I have been blessed and very fortunate to be married to my “soul-mate” and also to have three amazing children…..very independent children! Boy I sure could have used that “Caterpillar” with them…it’s tough to raise children that were smarter than you from the time they could walk! Be happy everyone…learn that all things do pass and we are able to move past that next obstacle that life has waiting for us. Hold onto your friends and family and be forgiving. Life is like a Kaleidoscope….no matter how many times we turn it and change it we are still looking at the same objects just in a different setting ….. add light and you get magic!

I have always been in awe of your art and I love your post. It is so true for me. I also have three children and right now they are in the the thick of "planning their futures"--all three are in college. I am proud of each one and I know what you mean about "being smarter than me since they could walk"! But you must think of that as a direct reflection of yourself as a parent! I am amazed that they still look to me for advise when I feel they have surpassed me in educational experiences, but remember--not in life experiences! No regrets--is the best way to live, because if anything was different you wouldn't be who you are!

You're very introspective today!! Everything that happens to us is all a matter of perspective ~ and how we 'react' to those things!! Keep us thinking, friend!

Beautiful post Pam...
I feel fortunate that as you gaze through that Kaleidoscope each of us who visit or are caretakers of a piece of your art are one of those little flecks of colour that when joined together form a vibrant rainbow connecting us on this path we call life...

Thanks Pam,, I needed to hear this as I haven't seen Kimmy since June and it has been weighing heavy on my mind..I think we both want to be right or whatever but neither of us has picked up the phone to call the other cause I guess we are both waiting for the other to call..I have emailed her a couple of times asking what is up..but no response and no calls..I miss hanging out with her..so I guess I need to make the call..have a great weekend.:)

Were you talking to me, Pam?! Your words really hit home today - I agree, the kaleidoscope analogy is perfect.

You are always so good at expressing your feelings!
