The Ol' Softee Says.....
That the "proverbial" cat has leaped from the bag and is out in cyber world now....I might have cancer! Though the first knowledge we had was not good it seems there is a HUGE light at the end of that spiraling tunnel of life, my tumor is contained and looks like it has not spread anywhere! As many of you know I had entered that "demon world" of dieting and actually was doing very well when one morning I woke up with severe abdominal pains and Dan took me to emergency. What we thought was probably a gall bladder attack from the heavy protein diet ended up being a tumor the size of Rhode Island nestled securely around my left ovary. This little invader had kept to itself and gone totally un-detected till now. After a couple of morphine shots and a visit to the Cat Scan I realized that my hitchhiker was as big as a cantaloupe and weighed somewhere in the vicinity of 11-13 lbs...YIKES! No wonder I felt like "puppy poo" and hurt like acupuncture gone awry! I was carrying around something the size of a baby and this one loved to kick......After being told that the chances this tumor, lets call it BUD, is malignant my first response was.....give me drugs I have Ghoultide in 10 days I promise to deal when I come back. Of course Dan stepped in at this moment and said....not if it will shorten your life....well needless to say it didn't and I was at Ghoultide with the serious help of drugs and now arrangements have been made for the removal and recovery of BUD! I will be going into the hospital October 13th for what they are calling "serious" surgery, the tumor will be extracted, dissected and analyzed while I lie in bed a few pounds lighter. I keep trying to bribe the doctor to remove some extra fatty tissue or give me a waist but she's not having any of it! Darn! Keep me in your thoughts everyone cause this Ol' Softee can use all the support and energy she can muster. If you don't see me around on line much it will be because I'm either high as a kite or sore as a stubbed toe with a hang nail! Just be patient my "Softee friends I will be back with a song in my heart and a bandaid over my mouth to keep me from singing said song! Nothing gets this "hot mama" down for long! Cancer is only a six letter word....but Fear, now that's four and you know what they say about those four letter words...Bad Kitty! Carolee Clark will be my go-to friend....questions go to Carolee. You can find her on Facebook. I have a week to clean my house and get my blog sale together....Wish me oodles of luck!

Pam,
I am sorry to hear about it, but glad you caught it. I have heard of a few people with large tumors like that and it was not malignant, so I am praying that yours will just be a mass of cells and they remove it all. My thoughts and prayers will be with you as you travel this new journey.

Hello, Pam
This is so strange. I am hearing of more women developing tumors in the abdomine. May you do well with your surgery. I have admired your creations for about three years. You are one very talented lady!
Hang in there, sweetie!
Teresa in California
I have been gone for a bit and am now just getting around to catching up on everyone's Blogs. Hang in there Pam...I am sending you lots of love and good thoughts! I went through breast cancer and chemo after that so I will be praying that you come through with flying colors!
Love,
LuLu~*xoxo
Thank you everyone....all of you mean so much to me and for you to take the time to give words of comfort and encouragement make you that much more special. As time gets closer to slice and dice I'm beginning to show signs of nervousness. I pray the gown covers my rather large arse and that my quirky sense of humor will remain in tact....and please make sure the knife is sharp....nothing worse than a dull knife in the hand of an uptight doctor! Here's to better days ahead!
Hello Pam!
I know that your incredible sense of humor and facing Bud head on will get your through this.
Sending you prayers and love from MidCoast Maine!
Julie
