My Weekend Warrior!

I'm A Re-Enactor's Widow.....
As the title of the post states "I'm a re-enactor widow"...Of course
this is by choice. I could go, dress-up, and be a part of the
1700's....just not my thing. Besides I don't think I could find a corset big enough, lol! It's fun to see it through my husbands eyes and stories, he is so into this and that in itself is worth all the weekends I spend alone. Dan has always been a big history buff, so now that he is able to live history and be surrounded by it,
it becomes even more fascinating! He started doing this when we lived in Vermont and now, here in Virginia he has become part of the Virginia 7th. I always tease him when he comes home and ask him how many times he died today or who won the battle? Even though we know the outcome, we won, it is still fun to listen to him talk about it in detail. I think Dan missed his calling as a history teacher!  He's in Charlottesville, Virgina this weekend...can't wait to hear the stories about this battle and the night around the campfire drinking rum (?).....I love this man and everyday is a new adventure!

We have a friend who is into the Civil War re-enactments. His wife used to go when their son was little but she grew tired of it and now relishes her weekends when he is away so she can pamper herself, lol
It is wonderful that your husband enjoys this so much. He looks great in his 'uniform'.

Sounds like fun. Remember playing dress ups. I'm sure it is about the friendships they make as well as all the acting they do.
