It's The Small Things...........

Thank You To All...............
As I sit here primed and ready to write something thought provoking and enlightening all that seems to come to my mind is "Boy that cup of coffee sure tasted good"! How does one go from "seeing the light" to normal? Your mind is such a kaleidoscope of emotion that it is difficult to separate anything clearly. The connection that we have to the ones we let into our lives becomes more vivid and important and the pettiness of gossip and personal insecurities becomes obsolescent. My dad use to have a saying and at the time made no sense to me at all but as I grew older the simple words became attached to my soul "IT'S EASY TO FORGET WHAT'S IMPORTANT....SO DON'T". As I laid in the ICU for days I think I finally realized the full impact of that statement!

To find I'm cancer free, after being told by nine doctors otherwise, was such a blessing in itself. I think it took an army to pull Dan off the rafters when he heard the news. Men are so funny when it comes to their emotions....they keep them wrapped up with just enough "loose tape" to only let a few escape at a time....it's the "Nature of the beast"! This abrupt turn in my life has seriously made me realize the importance of the people that are in it....most of my friends that I have I've physically only met once or twice but talk to everyday via the internet. Funny how the internet has impacted our lives. I want to thank all of you for the heartfelt encouragement and prayers you sent...you helped this Ol' Softee pull through. My life will be forever altered by this series of events but one part that will always remain constant is the love I have for family and friends! I still chuckle as I remember hearing the small voices of my grandchildren telling me to get well as Dan held the phone up to my ear in ICU....or my one grandson telling me to hurry up and get out off NCIS (he meant ICU). Never take the smallest gesture, event or experience lightly. We are the navigators of our destiny and it is up to us what road we choose to travel down. Even when the day is at its darkest a true navigator of positive thought can find a ray of light. Be happy, be productive and be loved my friends....this Ol' Softee is ready to make each day count and I would love some company!

Pam, so very glad that you are home, safe in the arms of your wonderful Dan and your family and friends. It is so unfortunate that a tragedy or trauma is usually the catalyst that propels us to reach these life truths but such is the nature of the beast, I guess. Truer words were never spoken (or written in this case!) about the importance of living each and every day to the fullest and looking for the beauty in all we see, do and love. Count me in Ol' Softee, I'll gladly join your company! Big hugs to you and yours, Deb

Oh Pam your words of wisdom today speak loud and clear girl. These times in life are necessary to give us deep perspective. I can see that you are listening to the inner voice inside speaking to you. Much love dear friend. I have never met you but our artwork drew us together many years ago. :) Maybe one day our paths will meet.

So great to hear your feeling better. Your words "We are the navigators of our own destiny and it is up to us what road we choose to travel down" has an inspiration that I can't explain, but it has a meaning for me that possibly has opened a window for me to slip through. Thank you and be well..

OH Pam, meeting you was one if not the grandest moments of Goultice...I remember how humble I felt as I asked you some "trade" secrets and you said yes, you share and came to the side of the booth just for me!

Yes, we got to know each other better and I could sense you and Dan have a special marriage! Gary and I do too.

I am ever so trilled with your prognosis (yea, I'm an RN) and look forward to a growing friendship. I'm the one that told you "Me Too!"

Love Carly

Soooo glad you are ready for another day! Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this post. I'm faced with conundrums on how to move forward with my skills and business, which is the basis of our life (it literally puts food on the table!) and all of our futures. "We are the navigators of our destiny and it's up to us what road we choose to travel down." Food for thought today. And, if you don't mind, I'll be quoting you when I blog about it this week! Our current path is being reconsidered and there is some spark of an idea there, floating at the edge of the fog, at the new path to take or should I say the shedding of old skin. New adventures await us both, My Dear! So happy to see you still along for the ride!

Pam...I spoke your name in prayer many days and was brought to tears by Dan's post that you are cancer free. Thank you Lord! I have followed your work since you first started selling patterns online through a pattern company here in Texas that has since sold out and moved away. You've come a long way Baby and I am delighted to know that we can look forward to many more adventures from you! Creating is good for the soul.

Pam, I just read your blog and had no idea you were sick. I was so happy to read that you are ok and doing well. I went through a similar scare two years ago with my right ovary. It really does change how you look at life, and I really need to be reminded of that once again. By the way, your hubby did a great job blogging!! Hugs, Kristine
