Best Friends........

Sometimes the years that pass us by can be nothing more than a curse and rarely a blessing as they take a toll on us physically and mentally. Getting out of bed in the morning no longer comes with a bounce but more of a crunch and an "OW"! The best part of getting older are the memories that we have created traveling down that proverbial road of life. My Dad always use to say that friendship never is about quantity but about quality and he was so right. Unlike me, my husband Dan has managed to gain both quantity and quality in his life but no one has more history and stories than his "BEST" friend Bill. Bill and his wife Maggie popped in for a quick visit the other day and it seemed that time had stood still except for our appearances (age has a wicked sense of humor).....We laughed and reminiscence about days gone by, kids, loved ones that had moved on and the aches and pains of growing older, but in everything, one thing still remained a constant...that unspoken bond that best friends have and will always have....You know the one... the one that always makes you feel like you can accomplish anything or be anyone as long as your buddy is there getting in trouble with you! Dan and Bill have know each other for over 45 years! Bill was our best man when we got married (the picture above with Dan, Bill and Dan's father Ken) and became "Uncle Bill" to our kids. Though Dan and Bill rarely see each other there will always be that unspoken bond that goes with wearing the "best friend" hat.....you know the "thick or thin" one! Here's to many more years and volumes of memories! There is nothing more rewarding in life than a "BEST FRIEND"!
