I HATE COPYCATS !!!!!!

Especially REALLY bad ones!
A very dear customer/friend found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140365762639&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT on ebay and sent it to me. If this disappears for some reason I would be happy to send you a picture. I rarely get upset over this common practice of stealing but com'on!!!! This is so obvious that I can't believe the person had the "kahunas" to even list it on a public forum like ebay! I think what really frosts me is the fact it is actually a really awful attempt at copying!!!!! I'm kinda insulted a bit! Anywho, it takes quite a bit to ruffle my feathers and I usually don't lower myself to the practice of name calling or throwing stones....but this time I wanted to throw a boulder! Okay this fat lady needs to go walk it off....maybe in about 10 miles I will be a bit more civil to be around! OMG I'm mad!

You know, I am always a little flattered when an artist may take a small piece, and I do mean small piece of my design and use their own technique and and turn it into their own design. But, when they out and out copy... then it is not flattering anymore.
I am sorry this happened to you. You have every right to have your feathers ruffled. But you know what? this copycats piece doesn't hold a candle to yours.

That is a shame and I would know they are not yours, just by looking at them;)

A poor replica at best ~ contact the mouse poacher and let them know what they are doing is WRONG!

You are right to be mad!! Some people have no shame in doing something like this. She should be off of ebay!!!

Hello I don't blame you at all for being mad the one consolation I can think of is that your friends and customers would know just by looking that it is not your work and a very poor imitation I will take your advise and go for a walk next time I'm in your position.

And I agree with you, copycats are not a good thing. If you can't come up with your own original quit trying to play the game. Of course this is a very bad imitation and let's hope this person reads your blog.
Happy Holidays!

It's not hard to tell that these aren't your sweet mice. I don't understand people... really I don't. Why can't people give credit where credit is due....I mean really come on.

What a miserable attempt at stealing your design. I don't know how she can look at herself in the mirror and good about herself.

I know it's no consolation but your mice are much better. I know what you mean though, it really irks a person to no end. I've had this done many times to me )=

think for one moment I see a bit of copy catting on your part Your stuff looks alot like stuff Ive seen at craft shows no offense but caroling mice have been around along time I've also seen better renditions of the crafts your selling. And how childish on your part to say such comments as the fat lady needs to walk it off. Its not very professinal. I would have commented right back at the hipocrit who decided to post it. It does not show a professional manner.I would never buy your crafts just for that comment. you must be one of those who thinks their stuff don't stink. signed another fat lady!

First let me address the fact that I will NEVER hide behind "Anonymous" when I have any comment to make to anyone! I believe that if a subject warrants any debate that I should have the courage and integrity to stand behind my beliefs! The rest of what you are saying is childish banter aimed at trying to hurt....I will not respond to it. And if this "FAT" lady wants to call herself fat then I have that right....I earned every pound that I have and I often walk off disappointment and anger! Oh and by the way....I quit doing crafts 15 years ago! My art is my art and it has given many comfort and smiles and will continue to do so...Feel free to respond anytime...

You all and your comments mean more to me than you will ever know. Thank you and may each and everyone of you have the "Merriest" of Holidays! Pam

First, I detest the word "crafts." I started in the folk art arena via decorative painting and taught/sold work across United States-oftentimes I taught from Patterns designed by other artists. This was before the era of mass production... I cringe when I see the imitations from dolls, to quilts to wooden signs

- I am now a quilter, and a primitive doll(mouse) ;-) maker.I so appreciate the hours you have spent "creating" the spirit of your work. Your kindness in sharing with us the secrets of making our own is so appreciated.
The people you want to "brag" about their mice are no doubt the biggest fans yours and have sent ++ interested folks to your site to either buy an original or create their own special piece.

That poster evidently cannot recognize true american folk art.

I struggled with posting a reply or not and you might not even post my comment but i felt I needed to say this, First off I love your work, You have inspired many artists like myself who had never sewn before 2004 to pick up a needle and sew, Some of your other commenters like Kelle also inspired me. I have to say I have seen mice created many other places. Are they coping you also? they give no credit to you as designer. This person who you have attacked is someone I know through the internet, like YOU each know Each other. I have a very hard time believing she "copied" your work. Maybe it is simply a considence (sorry if my spelling is off I recently had a stroke). I know there are many times I will sit and design something only to see someone else has a creation like the one i designed, sometimes I made my years before but never posted it..ps most of mine come in the wee hours when i am on pain meds and can't sleep.
I know you are upset and angry as you feel she copied your work, but at some point each of us prim artists is copying someone else's work...someone who is long gone and in on the other side. As we are creating "prim" when in fact it is faux primitive.
I hope you do not bash or ban me from reading your blog as it is inspiring and uplifting for the most part but i just felt i needed to speak up and yes I am posting my name and yes I do have permission from the graphic artist I use for inspiration.
