A Funny Little Mouse.......

The Adventures of "Despereaux Tilling"

Welcome to the story of Despereaux Tilling, a mouse who is in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. It is also the story of a rat called Roscuro, who lives in the darkness and covets a world filled with light. And it is the story of Miggery Sow, a slow-witted serving girl who harbors a simple, impossible wish. These three characters are about to embark on a journey that will lead them down into a horrible dungeon, up into a glittering castle, and, ultimately, into each other's lives. And what happens then? As the author Kate DiCamillo would say: "Reader, it is your destiny to find out.
My grandson fell in love with this story of a 'humble" little mouse who becomes a hero. So as a gift I was able to purchase a signed "by the author" copy of this amazing book for him for his birthday. Books are very special to me and I am hoping to pass this passion on to my grand kids. I know that Dan and I were very fortunate that our own children (now adults) have the same passion we do for reading and collecting books. I thoroughly enjoy how characters from books can inspire us with ideas that we use to create the characters that we have living inside us. I'm sure little Despereaux has inspired many artists with his cuteness and innocence. Maybe I should try making a little "Despereaux" as my next project!

Sounds like a wonderful story and the beginning of a new creation.

It is a beautiful book and not just for children. I admit this 50+ lady loved the story.

I loved that movie. It's a fond memory I'll share with my Grand daughter. Great lessons in that story.

Pam,
what is the name of the book? I must try and find it. A princess named Pea has me intrigued. LOL I love mice and been awhile since I read a good story. Could be a good one to keep for the G.Kids I will have hopefully someday.
Hugs,Pea
