MY OLD STOMPING GROUND!
SO SAD. . . . . . . .

My best years as a kid were spent in upstate Washington in a small town called Carnation. Carnation straddles two rivers, the Tolt and the Snoqualmie. Both these rivers flood annually, sometimes a small bit and other times with severe devastation. My dearest friend, also my family, and I took many unnecessary chances when we were young around these rivers never quite understanding their potential for destruction....now we know! My heart goes out to all those that have lost there homes and probably much more. I am leaving Virginia in February to go back to this sometimes barbaric environment to visit my loved ones. These rivers taught me to respect Nature in all her glory....It's true what they say "It's not nice to fool with Mother Nature" she can get really angry.................

It is hard when you live near a river like that. I have always wanted to live near the water, but it is one of the things you have to deal with, I guess. Glad your family is ok.

Love your Dancing in the rain mouse, makes me smile:)

I have first hand experience about the havoc deadly waters can cause!
I had to deal with hurricanes and their aftermath, but no one can ever get used to it or be complacent about it...Stay safe
blessings,Flora

I used to live in Redmond for a short time, but love the towns of Carnation and Duvall! so sorry for all the flooding of these beautiful towns and farms! I can think of no where else that is so beautiful than Washington state. Sherri
