COLUMBUS, OHIO WAS AMAZING ON SO MANY LEVELS!
As many of you know I was in Columbus, Ohio this past weekend at the "FROM OUR HANDS" show. First I would like to say it was a "FABULOUS" show. Not just monetarily but because of quality and atmosphere. The level of workmanship at this particular show was the best I had EVER been in company with. I felt so honored that my humble "Soft in the Head" characters were rubbing elbows with some very prestigious neighbors.

My first BIG surprise was that my booth had been placed right next to Debbie of "THE ONION PATCH PRIMITIVES" and Tammy of "HUMBLE CROW". I have admired their work for so long and to finally meet them was nothing short of amazing! Incredible women, women that I now feel honored to call friends! Before they left they each gave me a wonderful gift of one of their creations! I will treasure them always and doubly so because they were a gift from two amazing friends!

I still pinch myself when I think of just how inspirational and enlightening this trip was.
Now if you think this was the highlight, OH NO! About an hour into the show there was a surge of screaming and squealing going on when I got to finally meet some of my "PFATT" sisters for the first time. I cried...yep this Ol' Softee blubbered like a new born when she finally met these fantastic friends that I have only known over the internet. I didn't want to let go of any of them!!!! I borrowed the picture of all of us from Lori. Pictured from left to right is: Joyce Wilson "Enchanted Productions", ME, the O' Softee, Brenda Ostrowski "Magic Garden", Kathy Hunka "Kathy's Prims" and Lori Davis of "Vintage Palette". I felt like I have known these incredible women my whole life. They are my inspiration, support and strength in this vast ocean of creation and they came bearing gifts! Wa-Hooooo! Dan I received some FABULous wine from the girls to help celebrate our anniversary! My husband Dan felt like he had died and gone to heaven when he tagged along for dinner with us. He was quite taken with "the PFATTIES". Just a quick note: Brenda is being featured in the current issue of "ART DOLL QUARTERLY" her creations are FAN-TAB-U-LOUS!

Many wonderful and almost surreal incidents happened at this show for me. As you all know I don't do to many shows a year. In fact I am pretty selective of the shows I do. My world consists of the inside of my 100+year old store, my computer, husband, children and grandchildren so it was surreal to have people ask me to sign new and old patterns, to drive 5-6 hours just so they could meet me. I was literally blown away! To all of you that I hugged and said thank you to please know that I truly meant every word. I am where I am because of all of you and this Ol' Softee is VERY grateful indeed! I would also like to thank Kathy Wright, the producer of "From Our Hands", for all her help especially when I had left my suitcase with all my drapes back in Virginia. She came through in a "New York" minute with what I needed, whew!

Today is the day for a new president - the world is holding it's breath, literally, and so am I.
